Enter > Walking Performances

This practice facilitates a heightened awareness of traversed landscape as a means to re-discover place and engage transformation. The simple yet evocative act of carrying pigmented water without spilling steadies and slows the walker's pace. The durational limits of the walks are set by the process of evaporation. Evaporation walks are self-initiated and antidotal to the experience of grief.

The first group evaporation walk took place in Columbus, Ohio August 2nd, 2014. The second group evaporation walk was facilitated on October 31st, 2015 in the Hocking Valley of Southeastern Ohio with Compassionate Friends. This project has received support from the Ohio Arts Council, Santa Fe Arts Institute, Ucross Foundation, and Virginia Center for Creative Arts.
