movement and place > Evaporation walking

I pull off the side of the highway on my long road trip from the southwest. I walk a dirt road parallel to the concrete one and perch on top of a fence post to get a three-quarter view of a salt bed. The pictures we took together are a dissatisfying marker of time. A lifetime is almost imperceptible in geologic time scale. Our lifetime as sister's no longer feels quite so brief when I contemplate this.
