This walk is long and meandering and leads through the snow patched hills of Wyoming’s cattle country. I am staying at a ranch with wind blown terrain, compressed by the hooves of cattle. Their foot paths along with various native species are made all the more visible by snow. I find myself stepping in their footpaths till they disappear into drifts. The animal trails branch out for seemingly endless miles. They create temporary borders between things. They extend through fences and rivers, roads and tree lines.
